An object’s impact resistance is defined by the amount of energy it requires (per volume) for an object to fail. In the conversation of plastics, a plastics ability to stay strong without fracturing can help prevent accidents and can be enhanced by adding a soft material on the surface of plastic materials. Some examples of examples within specific industries include:

Why 3D Printing?
Connex products use their industry leading capabilities to combine both rigid and flexible materials to produce coats with differing thicknesses and shore values. With the mixed tray option (soft and rigid materials printed disjointedly on the same tray), Connex enables you to easily print counless designs with varying coating structures. From this, you can then assemble the rigi d parts and the coatings to experiment, and if need be, recalculate your design.
Tips and Tricks
You can use the Objet Studio software to coat parts with differing thicknesses (0.3mm - 3mm) with one click of the mouse. Connex is able to print 9 separate build materials simultaneously, so youn are able to print all parts of your design at once. Finally, by saving your design in separate STL files according to each part, you can go back and alter the color scheme at any point.
